Permanent beauty treatments for brides-to-be

A new bride is always under the spotlight, thanks to the innumerable dinners and meet-ups. And unfortunately, newly-wed women are expected to always turn up looking all prim-n-proper and that too in just few minutes of time. Well, though many women have tried to change the trend by adapting natural makeup looks that are low maintenance, some who love makeup have started opting for permanent makeup.

With permanent makeup one can look almost perfect all the time. It’s a must try for new brides, especially for ones who love wearing makeup. We got in touch with Shikha Baghi Bhandari, Founder and Managing Director, Timeless Aesthetics to know more about permanent makeup and this is what she had to say.

“The core idea behind these treatments is to correct, enhance and neutralize. Now it can be a bit difficult to understand in such a way but a simpler version is to make you look like you. Imagine you have a blank section in your brows, they are not in proper shape, or your lips are too dark or even your hairline is not even or have gaps. All of the above-mentioned issues are more unbelievably common in women. Permanent makeup is not going to give you unnatural or exotic features that you wouldn’t otherwise have. Instead, it will give you the brows you would have in a perfect world or the lip color that would be naturally rosy or pink, or a hairline without flaws or gaps. The beauty of these treatments is that none of them look like that they have been added but they look shockingly natural and none can tell them apart without a close examination,” explains Shikha as she recommends some permanent makeup ideas.

Permanent Eyebrows

One of the most popular PMU treatments in the world is the permanent eyebrows. It has solidified PMU industry in the world. Believe it or not, an adult woman goes to parlor once a month to get their brows shaped plus once a day, they pencil their brows to give them a sharp contrast. Permanent Brows have completely eliminated the need of all that. You get sharp and high-definition brows for over a year and with simple touch ups, you can keep them that way for life. “I personally recommend ombré brows for younger women and combination brows for slightly older ones,” adds Shikha.

Permanent Lip Colour

There is a lot of confusion regarding this treatment mainly people believe that it is for individuals who have dark/ smokers lips but that’s is just one side of it. Many times, over a period, lips lose their vibrancy and real tone they once had. Permanent Lip colour enhances that vibrance and revitalizes those evenly coloured lips. There is lip neutralization and then there is colour application which is done by several masterful techniques and shading is applied to give the lips natural inward and outward curvature.

Permanent Eyeliner
Kajal or mascara is an Indian woman’s crown. It enhances eyes and makes one look very charming and classy. It is however a daunting task to apply it yourself and even if you find someone to apply it for you, if they are not professionals, chances are, it’s going to be uneven. Then at the professional end, what type of mascara to be used is a whole other story. “Remember, brides cry and when they do, makeup doesn’t stay where it once was a few hours ago. So, there are stigmas attached to this must have yet polarized aesthetic element. Permanent eyeliner gives you the perfect mascara for ages. You can choose your type of design and any professional artist can give you that look. I absolutely recommend it for brides-to-be,” quips Shikha.

Scalp Micropigmentation

“Now, it is not necessarily targeted towards to women per say but in my career, I have come across several women who have thin hairline and no overall hair volume. Even overly silky hair can expose gaps especially with bridal head jewellery and accessories. Many women consider to simply have hair extensions added or other cosmetic solutions but let’s face it, one mishap and your wedding day is simply ruined. Scalp micropigmentation is an intricate treatment which can help restore your hairline by minimal application. It’s a rare thing for a young woman to need it but just in case, if they do, we have a treatment for them,” suggests Shikha.

Eyelash Lift

Eyelash extensions are hip but they are not for a bride, maybe for bridesmaids or that eccentric aunty but not for the lady of the hour. The bride needs to look classy and that’s where enters a simple treatment that allows your natural eyelashes to be curled up and out. The treatment barely takes 30 minutes and the results lasts you for 2-3 weeks. A perfect amount of time to go through all of the festivities without having to worry about them. Only caveat is that you have to have good number of lashes.

Timeframe

An important thing to keep in mind, is that these treatments can’t be overlapped to all individuals so an early appointment is necessary. One must get the first of these treatments at least two months before the big day and not undergo two treatments at once unless they do not contradict the results or can impact your skin adversely. Solo treatments are good by themselves and the first proper touch up is to be applied after 4 weeks which is like the final application of the permanent treatment. Same is true for lips, eyes, scalp and all the others.

Permanent makeup treatments are painless and are done under very sterilized conditions. The products used are tested and approved by FDA. These treatments are for everyone except those who have an acute skin condition. These is a little downtime but not anything like bed rest. There is however a strict cleansing and avoiding direct sunlight. Certain medications need to be held off and medicated lotions or topicals need to be checked with your professional artist or physician.
