Chiranjeevi-Ram Charan's film Acharya dubbing rights sold for Rs 26 crore | Telugu Movie News

Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan’s film Acharya’s dubbing rights have been sold for Rs 26 crore. The film that was to release in May has now been pushed to a later date and wait for cinemas starts again.

Vijay Kumar, who brokered the rights for the actor, said, “I have done the deal for the film, which has been bought by Jayantilal Gada. It has fetched one of the highest rates in the recent past.”

Kumar, who has been dealing with remake and dubbing rights of South films, said that the dubbing market is booming and most films are sold at the mahurat of the film. “The trend started with 2011 with films of Nagarjuna and Allu Arjun. Since then most of the South films are much in demand by the satellite channels,” he informed.

He adds that dubbing rights rates are growing exponentially with each passing day as the demand for content for electronic media has shot up. Vijay Kumar said, “In 2011, all Arjun film’s dubbing rights were sold at Rs 10 lakh, and now, in 2021, it is Rs 21 crore, that is the major difference, which shows the growing demand for content and one of the reasons could be that not enough content is being produced by Hindi regions and therefore this is an advantage for regional cinema from the South”.
